OB visit 35 weeks

We took the kids to my OB visit this week.  Last time we were there, the baby was still breech and Dr. M. told us that he was going to do another ultrasound to check for growth and position.

Riley has been a bit resistant to the idea of a baby joining our family and I thought that it might helpful for him to see the baby.  And Megan is completely fascinated by the human body, so we knew that she would love it.

But I have to say that it was a more bizarre visit than usual.  Dr M. walked it, not really greeting anyone, put his hands on my stomach and told me that the baby was head down, as expected.(????)  When we asked about the ultrasound, he told us that they aren't done every visit.  The it took both Bryan and I several minutes to get him to focus on the fact that the baby was breech last visit and the he had wanted to an ultrasound.  Finally he looked at his notes and when out to get the machine.

The kids liked being able to see the baby.  And Megan got to see the heart beating.  Dr. M. rooted around a little bit to see if he could confirm the gender (he is way more interested in it that we are) but the baby was positioned in such a way that it just wasn't possible.

But everything is mostly OK.  The baby is head down, which is a relief. I lost a pound between visits, but since I had barfing flu last week, I wasn't surprised.  My blood pressure was a little high again and he wants me to come in tomorrow for another check.  And now until the end we have visits every week.  So we will be seeing more and more of him.  I hope that frequency improves the interactions.
